About 127 Place's OVC Conference
The 127 Place Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Conference is an opportunity to bring together the Body of Christ in order to inspire, encourage and equip the Church to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. The Bible is clear on what our role is to be. The questions before us are simply:
Are we willing to step out in faith?
Where do we begin?
We want to engage these questions and help each church and individual figure out how best to be part of not only a Christian movement across the world, but also a calling as ancient as Moses. By looking into Scripture, we find our calling (James 1:27, Ps. 82:3) and by learning what research tells us, we can become strategic and effective in our serving.
This conference is aimed at anyone who serves vulnerable children. This conference is for YOU, whether you serve as a pastor or lay leader and looking to get involved, a professional who serves those with backgrounds of trauma (teachers, police officers, first responders, nurses, social workers, etc.), or a person who ministers to the homeless, trafficked, imprisoned, or at-risk child. Trauma and vulnerable children touch our lives whenever we choose to be with those weakest in our society.
When you come, you'll hear from experts in the field who serve locally, nationally and abroad. You'll learn how to get involved and find a wide variety of ways you can do that. You'll become more equipped to transform the work you already do to better serve those with a trauma background. And you'll leave impassioned and excited about the work ahead. We're excited! We hope you are, too!
